Meeting Highlights

  • Patrol Leaders Council Meeting Minutes for January 19, 2012 are posted under Recent Documents. Check'em Out!
  • February Campout weekend re-scheduled.  We will be cabin camping February 10-12, 2012 at Camp Wakonda, Peoria, Illinois.
  • Pathfinder District Dinner is February 3, 2012 at the Seville in Streamwood. See Dr. Miller for information and RSPV.
  • MLK swim day at Bartlett Park District, perform swim advancement requirements or just come to swim, or do both.  Mr Adame is administering this event.
  • SCOUT SUNDAY is February 5, 2012 at OSUMC.  The Troop will participate in services that morning and then have our annual Scouter recognition luncheon at Ricardo's in Schaumburg.  All Scouts are encouraged to bring a white elephant grab bag gift!

Lincoln Pilgrimage Slideshow

Have you ever wanted to become a Boy Scout or Venturing Crew Member? 

Boy Scouts is for anyone in 5th grade to 18 years old. Scouts are active an a huge amount of activities, including camping, whitewater rafting, photography, computers, climbing, cooking, and much much more! Being a Boy Scout is a great opportunity for you (if you're in 5th - 12th grade) or your son.  Please contact  scoutmaster@bsatroop392.org

Boy Scout Troop 392 meets every Tuesday at the Our Saviours United Methodist Church on Schaumburg Road at 7:00pm. If  interested you're welcome to show up!

Venturing provides an experience for older boys and girls who are anywhere from 15 to 21 years old. Venture crews engage in many high adventure activites like, scuba diving, rock climbing, sailing, motoboating, and much much more. Venturing is a great thing to do, and we're always very interested in new members!

Why do we wear uniforms?

The Boy Scouts of America has always been a uniformed body. There are many reasons for this. One reason stands out above all the rest. We wear the uniform because it is a means of identifying ourselves openly with the principles to which we are committed-character development, citizenship training, and physical and mental fitness.

The fact that youth and adult members of Scouting wear a uniform doesn't mean that we're all alike. We come from different ethnic and racial backgrounds. We have our own religious beliefs and political views. We are each individuals with our own family traditions and loyalties. So the uniform is not intended to hide our individuality. But it is a way we give each other strength and support. It is a bond that ties us together in spite of our differences. It is a way of making visible our commitment to a belief in God, loyalty to country, and to helping other people.

The Scouting movement is built on positive values. As we wear the uniform, we are openly identifying ourselves with those values where everyone can see us. We stand together, not alone, in encouraging others to live by those same principles. Boys and adults alike should take pride in belonging to such a movement and wear the uniform as it is intended.
